Introducing Grace

Miss Christina's pet "Grace" is a Female Khaki Mini Beagle. She enjoys sitting on mom's lap while she works at the computer, being the chosen one lol, following mom around the house and puppy farm, playing with toys, eating chicken, walking along the top of fallen logs, occasional romps in the woods, crawling into all the various dog beds throughout our house, and for some reason whenever a boarding dog comes while their family travel, its almost a funny little tradition she goes and gets in their crate and tries out their bed- mom calls her Goldie Locks. But her favorite bed of all, is mom's big king size!

This girl is perfect! At night she sleeps in her crate or in the bed, and during the day she'll grab a toy out of her toy basket and snuggle up in her cuddler or on her blanket. What a doll!

As soon as she comes in the door after being lose outside, she runs straight to her crate and wipes her paws off. We've taught her this very simply by always having a biscuit waiting for her return in the crate. So now she always runs there to check and see if there is one! We can also say "Get in yo bed" and she'll happily run and get in her crate, then look at us like "ooh Im so good!"

Grace is a mini khaki beagle, with light hazel/greenish eyes.

Nah nah I got here first!

Grace is a runt khaki female we kept from a standard mom and dad's litter. by feeding her carefully as a puppy  and because we thought she was very petite boned and short legged, she was able to stay the size of a mini beagle.  she is my very favorite dog of all time ! My constant companion in the house and yard. She is crate trained but usually sleeps with me, I love her company during the daytime when the kids are at school she keeps me going !  each day as I go about my day she is there like my shadow, laying down on the bed while I type the many many e-mails we get each day... as I walk up the hill she runs by my side off leash, trots over to her favorite fallen log and runs along the top of it ...She has a  buddy "Kloie" the silver mini sized runt who visits her as a playdate in the house and yard sometimes...(shown above when she was a puppy playing with Grace,) Kloie turned out even smaller than Grace and  she too was not born to a mini parent but had the genes from a mini ancestor somewhere in her bloodline that made her such a small dog !  Often  runts turn out the size of a mini puppy or slightly larger than one born to a mini parent. Over the years we have selectively kept the smallest sizes to add in to our bloodline to decrease our size overall in the beagle line we raise to be housepets.  Our standard size medium beagles are also small enough to be great indoor pets most are 13-14 inch which is a great size to be a family pet.  these make  great housepets and  they are satisfied to be homebodies !

Kloie gets to come for visits , Grace enjoys having someone to run and play with too. When the two of them went off to the log that Grace likes to run on top of , I watched tiny Kloie run under the log looking up at Grace as they went along.... and the next day she too tried jumping up on it and running like on a balance beam... she fell off to one side and landed on her feet, when it got too high off the ground.. ( the log has lost its bark and is smooth and the limbs are gone so it looks like a light oak colored telephone pole laying  on the ground across and up a hilly forest ). Kloie  ran along the rest of the way on the ground under Grace again , and now she doesnt try to jump up on the log like my little surefooted grace she must have thought it was too high for her and is satisfied to run following older grace till she reaches the end and jumps back down to show off ! then she runs to find mom and the two follow me around as i do things in the yard or garden playing as we go.  I think companionship is one of the main reasons we are selling more puppies these days to single people.  The trend now seems to be to find a good companion dog for indoors so they have someone to come home to who is always happy to be with them !
