Over 19 years of experience has gone into developing our exclusive house pet variety beagle bloodline. We continue to develop our beagles' luxurious coats & stunning colors, and overall family-oriented wonderful companion pet traits in our beagle bloodline. Since our pets are not allowed to go into any breeding programs & are purely for those looking to raise up a companion beagle with exceptional traits to be just right for an indoor pet, only we have this unique and exquisite companion pet bred & raised bloodline. We are not breeding for hunting abilities/ mindset, and rather than simply focusing on the show worthy looks, we aim to improve our beloved beagles in all areas for the pet-home. If approved you could choose claim an Available puppy with your deposit and hold them off the market until you come out soon to meet with us and welcome home your new darling (Afternoons/evenings that week or a weekend trip for the fam!) or have the baby fly home via PetFirst. If you don't see an Available puppy in the color(s), size(s), gender or whatever really steals your heart, many of our families ask to get themselves pre-approved for a puppy from us whenver everything works out just right. celebrating His mom came up from Lake Norman and treated us to Souper Salad lunch, and we went next door to look at.., and play ,and dream of a new guitar for Jake, then went by an oriental market in Matthews and shopped, then came home to the puppers . Christi and Jake took off to go to a Bond Fire at his uncles in Monroe this eve while Miss C, and Cody tend to the puppies and momies here. Happy Super bowl Sunday everyone !! we had a nice lunch of Corned Beef and cabbage ,baked potatoes then opened the box sent by the IPod Inventor and his wife Karen who are on our waiting list for a khaki baby of their own ! The kids got so excited to see they had gotten Ipod shuffles of their own to enjoy! The puppies got biscuits and toys and a really nice big bed.
Feb 06 2010 Peppy of Electra's litter got adopted by the Meyer family. Also Joey of Brandys litter was adopted by the Stones . One by one each of our currently available puppies are finding a wonderful home with folks who appreciate them . Adopting an older pup has a real plus side with the vet work done they save considerable time and money on those trips ! Feb 05 2010 Sienna's Chocolate mini female with the blaze "Roxie Jo" has been claimed by the Wallace family from Roxboro NC! Feb 04 2010 Bernie has gone to his new home with the Hawkins family from the Winston Salem area! Feb 03 2010 New Turns have been announced! It gets pretty exciting around here when the line for a litter is moving and folks are happily claiming pups they have had their eye on awaiting their families turn in the Expectant Parents lines once litters arrive ! Feb 02 2010 Our Pre-approved Waiting List families have made their choices now and all of Darla's litter of 8 was claimed over the past two days! Sausage & Peppers have been claimed together by the Meo Family! Barnum & Bailey have been claimed by
the Calise family! Zeke has been claimed by Frances & Mich ! Lexi has been claimed by the Johnson Family! The smiths came out to visit their son Max yesterday and bring him some toys and things for he and his littermates to enjoy while they grow up! Thanks so much to the Lawsons for sending along their Care Package for Lily and her litter to enjoy! It has been cold winter weather here with snow and Ice on the ground

"Nala" Rochelle Brandon's chocolate baby girl in Charlotte NC sees her first snow! Thanks for the great shot of your cutie ! Luckily we didnt have many folks who had planned to come out sat.
We decided to play it safe and not meet with anyone who would need to drive out here with the roads icy .. There was Snow falling in Downtown Monroe Jake said when he and Christi got home with our supplies that night ... Miss C. stayed here to help deliver the newborns ! Our Standard litter arrived! 3 girls , and 3 boys !
a Tri girl with a spot on her big blaze like our "Angel " the first dog in our bloodline had . and a "Bernie the Beanie baby" female. LIke the Ty beanie they named Bernie . Very Wide blaze and open river markings running down her back . another Tri colored little darlin this one has a medium blaze and jet black solid back. & a bernie boy with lots of open markings and a super wide blaze. and 2 more smaller tri boys, a nice group of pups ! We are busy getting ready for some Possible Bad Weather ... Everyone is chipping in to get things ready for Slushy /Icey conditions Jake is seeing to it our Fireplace is clean and set up with wood ready to be lit if our power goes out .. Thanks to Domino's daughter :"Pepper" a tri colored mini girlie for sending her mom a Petsmart Gift Card to use for her new little brothers and sisters ! She was one of Domino's last litter born a year ago who stays in touch and sends us pictures and updates and posts video's on U-Tube often from her homes. Her family sent us a cute Birthday card with her picture on it in honor of her 1st B-day !!
We have a retiring adult female we hope to place in a loving and great new home where she can stay close to home and not need a fenced yard. She never roams or leaves our home . see her on retire/rescue page ahead. We have recently sucessfully bred for May litters to arrive around here for Spring Time Beagle Puppies !! if that is your time frame we invite your emails regarding our waiting list approval process. put springtime pup in your subject line please ! All the new babies' pictures are posted now! Christi has just finished taking pictures of the New Borns to begin addding them to the sections on Velvetine and Sienna's litter arrivals. The folks in Mini lines will be making their choices soon, thanks for being so patient !! ALL our Mini litters are born now and there are some really adorable pups to fall in love with now ! Sienna had her 7 Little Angels All Girls ! 1 Solid head Chocolate girl 1 blazed Chocolate Female 1 Nano Tri Girlie ! 4 Tri mini Girls Monday night she delivered with with no trouble she has lots of good rich milk and is doing a wonderful job ! Thanks to The Fords for Bringing home souveniers from their Snow Sking Trip to Massanutten ! We can sure use the Coffee Cup alot right now with all the stayin up we do around here ! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ We had a great time with their pup by Brandy " chocolate" Chip" He still has 2 brothers( Kona and Joey) here awaiting the perfect home for each , so he had fun staying with us . Folks like that since our customers keep up on their pups shots and vet work they are able to come visit us while their humans travel... kennels dont accept boarding of such young animals , so their owners cant leave them till they are old enough to have had their series of 4 shots done and gotten a Rablies shot at 4months old before they can be boarded .
"Chip" has one of the Best Least Shedding Coats we have seen in a long time, and just beautiful eyes, he is such a specimen !
Drinking Canadian coffee brought back by the Erhart family who boarded Mocha while traveling to Canada, with Autocrat coffee syrup courtesy of the Calise family from RI who had sent along a care package, and then recently claimed their 2 babies Barnum & Bailey by Darla, in our Koke Pelli coffee mug that the Ford family brought from their Ski trip to Massanutten when the came back to pick up their Chip by Brandy! Thanks so much guys, we are thinking of you all as we start our day!
Velvetine's Litter arrived by Emergency C-Section at Faulkner Animal Hospital late at night.
We really appreciate his dedication leaving his own family, and new baby to preform a C-section so all Velvetine's babies were safely born. Jake looked around at one point and said thats a Tornado alert for us on the Radio in the Vet's office! Dr. Glenn just kept working to bring each new baby beagle into the world .
It was a loud rainey night outside but we were busy and all was going well as each took its first breath of Life! Khaki cuties 4 boys, and 1 chocolate girl all made it , and are fine !
Electra's adult daughter ":Ruth" is here for a visit to be bred so we can have a gorgeous super less shedding fur litter of pups by her in MId May. we made a deal when she was adopted to have her come home on her second heat to be bred to produce a litter to continue our exclusive wonderful line of beagles with less shed tri coats !
BIG THANKS TO HER MOM AND DAD FOR SENDING THE HOMEGROWN ORGANIC GREENS, AND BOX OF ORANGES FROM THEIR PRODUCE STAND. SHE ALSO BROUGHT GOODIES FOR THE DOGS TO ENJOY TOO !
the kids have really been enjoying eating all the fresh tangerines and oranges , and we've cooked up the greens in many dishes thus far and really appreciate that thoughtfulness Vernon shared his talents growing them with us !
We think it wont be long now till we have some new faces here everyting is set up for the new litters to arrive !! Valentines Day Puppies !
We have added new pictures of Sandy's and Domino's litter to the site! both litters have had their dew claws removed last week, and are doing good getting fat and happy !
MIss C. wants to extend a huge thanks to "Mocha's" Waxhaw family . Over the holidays they went home to Canada and brought frequent visitor/boarder chocolate Mocha to stay with us .. the girls walked in with arms full of goodies to share with the puppies and moms around here for Christmas ! Treats of all kinds !! and when they came back from Canada they did the same with a bag of yummy stuff for the kids and I to enjoy for taking care of him while they traveled.... Smoked Almonds, Canadian Coffee, organic maple syrup ,& chocolates !
um boy !! you guys are the best !! we appreciate all the goodies and have fun when mocha comes to hang out with the gang here....our customers tell us its so nice to know their dog will actually have fun in its first home and they can relax knowing its safe and well cared for just as they would do ! ............................................................. We currently have available puppies ready to go home to choose from with no Waiting line for this timeframe.. ask us to make a visit and meet them Sat.! ....................... ( not many breeders have Beagle Puppies available this time of year due to the cold weather) in our area most are bred for Hunting enthusiasts and the majority of those are in outdoor cages which dont allow for the warmth that must be maintained to keep newborns alive, and thriving. Our home raised babies have heated pads under them and overhead heat lamps to keep a constant temp. so they can be raised. Often folks comment they have looked, and looked for pups, and we are amoung the only ones available in winter months. )
(Darla's litter of orange and tri pups ) Both Sunny's Girls got to go home Wed. we got things set up and were able to ship her runt sized tri girl to her new family in San Antonio Texas also, so the sisters got to ride to the airport together !! Tues Jake and Christi headed to the Vet's office to get the Health Cert done for Sunny's Tri colored standard girlie to go home to her new owners in CT. on Wednesday ! Domino's litter arrived Saturday morning, she had a colorful bunch of cuties... we are working round the clock caring for the newbies and their momies. Thanks so much to the families who have written to say congrats, and mentioned they are willing to display their patience by understanding how our commitment to the little ones comes before emails and such ... we will get around to everyone soon! thanks so much for understanding ! Sandy delivered her litter of khaki cuties !!! she had a khaki girl with a blaze and one with a solid head , then a Nano khaki girlie with a solid head... they are doing good ! We are expecting some snow tonight so Jake and Christi headed out to get some firewood and bottled water just in case we need um !!

Here she was as a pup here before she flew home with her new mom on a plane ... we found this shot and thought theyd enjoy seeing it ... you can see how beautiful her coloring got as she grew up above. ( the black drops out of the coat coloring as they age) we headed to the vet's office first thing monday morning to get health certifications on electra's two boys going to South Dakota, and Carla's khaki boy going to New York ! then going to the Charlotte airport to send them home . when Electra's adult pup from a previous litter's family vacationed over the holidays they went to Gatlinburg Tenn. and brought us back t-shirts, a little bucket of candy for the boys and for daughter Christi a nightlite and guitar shirt she loves !! thanks so much for the thoughtful gift/souveniers , we enjoyed boarding Callie while you were away !

Thanks so much to Karen Jordan ( new mom to Sunny's chocolate boy) who sent along a big box of Iams puppy biscuits for the pups and moms to enjoy, as well as a cute beaver toy, rope bone and bed so he can have his littermates scent on his things to take home for the first few nights away from everything familiar to help comfort him in his new home. our neighbor told us yesterday he was looking at pups online and had a hard time finding any beagles available .. the one he did find he said was ugly as mud quote un quote LOL ... and for a standard size it was $1097, couldnt find any others anywhere... wow. we knew puppies are hard to find right now with the colder weather ... Miss C. sends her thanks to Santa's helper's the Comley family who's two boys got a big surprise xmas morning with their new puppy ! Camie brought us candied Pecans to enjoy for the holidays yum! the puppies and momies want to thank Daniel Dubin Manion ( writer for People Magizeen) soooo much for the Iams puppy food 40 lb bag and Eukanuba small breed puppy 20lb bag she so generously donated to their upbringing here via her awesome $100. petsmart Gift card ! Christi and Jake are busy taking pictures this eve. of her pup, and littermates with the toys she sent along too ! we hope everyone had a Merry Christmas !

We like for our puppies to go into considerate homes & families, so I ask to see everyone demonstrate their understanding and patience by respecting the fact that we have to spend most of our time committed to our beagles, puppies, & responsibilities here. When we are able to find a stopping point, we work on website updates offline- such as uploading & organizing our zillions of adorable beagle photos onto the computer, updating & editing the website so that when we're able to go online & publish again, our many many followers across the nation will simultaneously see our updates about what's currently going on here. These webupdates hopefully answer everyone's common questions, and then we can proceed to focus on our individual emails. I try to check emails most days, but sometimes days go by without time to get online.
If a few days go by and you haven't received a reply, do feel free to be kindly persistent in reminding us of your family to make sure we didn't miss your interest. We really appreciate your patience, persistence, and kindness when emailing us about potentially adopting one of our babies, its especially appreciated after those late nights caring for newborns & early coffee-mornings around here ! .:Email Hint:. Specific Subject lines capturing the main idea of your interest is always helpful when I find myself up late one night, staring & blinking at a full inbox of unread queries! lol . (such as your preferences, specific puppies you're interested in, or the timeframe you are looking for. etc) This helps me better remember your wishes, so that I can try to piece together everyone's desires, and get back to you all sooner as I see good matches for our pups !

whenever
we have newborns they come first..years ago I learned the hard way when I
took a call and came back to find two new babes unable to get out from
under a groggy momie ... don't leave um unattended to do emails anymore..
its just not worth it.. they are first priority !!
Taking
care of each one of our family raised puppies is our first priority, (& all
our sunshine acres beagles!). I greatly appreciate everyone's patience &
understanding that a majority of my time spent here at home is
devoted to our sweeties & hand raising each of our sunshine acres
puppies with all the TLC they need!
Whenever I am
at
home, I'm usually either taking care of the little ones, taking pics, working on the website
for everyone's benefit, etc, while my mom Miss Christina is usually
tending to newborns or other important responsibilities around here! I
also try my best to help answer emails. This is
at time when I've take care of everything else, and have found a
moment to sit down, review potentional homes, perhaps discuss
consideration with my mom, and compose a reply (hopefully with
getting interrupted! lol but sometimes I do need to do something
else, and come back to finish later).
Of course depending on the nature of the
request, we may need to get back to some emails before others. Usually when we see an email from
one of our families who has claimed one of our current puppies, (especially those going home soonest),
I
generally try to give those emails priority when we're online.

He has gone home with Susan Stone from Raleigh NC! He is very observant & intelligent, watching everything you say and do, as well as his environment. He likes to be aware of what's going on, even watching you & Kona's interactions intently when talking to his brother, waiting for his own turn for instruction. He is very playful, loves to get his toys, and also love to lay back in your lap!

Chip Ford came back to board! they bring his own plastic easily set up pen and his cuddler bed and toys and blankets. Here he goes into our woods behind the house , he has an adventure with Sugar who's last chocolate puppy just recently left for her new home... she loves a chance to mother and play with him helping to Socialize him with adults and enjoy some freedom to romp in our huge acreage backyard with plenty to do and sniff ! Update on "Oscar" from his parents Susan & Garrett!
"He loves to bite plastic bottles and fetch. He is doing great on
learning tricks too! He just had is 3 month birthday on the 24th of Jan,
and he already can sit, lay, stay, beg, speak and is trying to perfect
roll over. He gets so much attention on the daily outtings that Garrett
and I take him on. Update from "Dude" and his parents Travis & Michelle ! "I got a puppy biscuit for being good and going potty outside =) then she said we were going to wake up daddy, he's so much fun so I was glad! I licked his face and he woke right up! We played for a bit then had breakfast. Mommy said she had some friends to meet, so I got to stay home and hang out with daddy. He told me about this crazy game called football and a team he likes, the Miami Dolphins. I think they should be the Miami Beagles, but that's just me =) He let me watch sportscenter and taught me all the different names. It was fun! I was sleepy so I crawled up and took a nap with him." Note: Folks who live in sunny spots love the lighter coloring on Lemon and Khaki beagles since black fur attracts the hot sun ,
more Traditional coloring on a beagle can make the pet need to be in a cooler environment so as to stay comfortable whereas the lighter coloring on rare color beagles can have a lack of black pigment those dogs are happy to be with you outdoors in the sunshine !!
" Sunny" our white and orange mom hasnt any black to make her hot when outdoors.

and most often shed less than a typical tri -colored regular beagle you can find easily..
( depending on its ancestors )

| her litter is here now ! Ready around the first week of March |

Introducing Velvetine she is a khaki -colored mini mom
she is a daughter by "Velvet" a khaki mom we have already retired. She had the softest most Velvet like fur, we loved her coat. " Velvet's " adult stud muffin son "Jake" is one of the dogs you can see in the front yard on our invisible fence on our front and side yard. he has the least shed coat, and a very loveable side, so we love it when he gets to be a Dad now and then, we know his cuties will be special !
his personality is great too... he is protective of us, and his women friends in his area .( his Harem of ladies..) But still he is a super friendly fellow long as your not a burgler and momie says your ok ! No one just comes up our driveway unless they are invited out so he announces anyones arrival to us but doesnt keep on, and on ,and never bayes at the moon etc. as beagles can be said to do...
khaki's bark the least of all our dogs..and have the least "Beagle stereotype like" traits , he knows when to let us know if a stranger is here , but doesnt howl for no reason . We feel very Safe with Jake in the front yard to guard our home. many people say khaki beagles bark the least of all beagles. And when and if they do you should check things out, we agree , someone said recently their khaki dog was like Lassie.. one brother told on the other when his battery died, and the non khaki one went slightly outside their invisible fenced in area.. thats so cute ! she said he was saing mom come get him ! We arent allowed over there , I folow the rules like a good boy ...( some Folks say khaki beagles are the least like a beagle, in all around characteristics, and traits .) Over the years about half a dozen khaki beagles have grown up not having a bark... we've only seen this trait in the khaki's not other lines of beagles thus far. Some seem to act like they are barking and think they make noise but not much comes out . This isnt a trait anyone can predict with any certainty so its not a preference you can set. It partially explains why the khaki beagles are more in demand . Their unique color sets them apart from other dogs, most coats are shorter than other colors, and some are even almost waterproof ! Almost like water off a ducks back at first water sheets off some.. these are the least shedding fur ones typically. Of course there are different lines of khaki's in our line and some have stronger traits in one area or another , the combination of which is a wonderful "Pet Beagle" , Of course all dogs have to shed coats at times during the year , less shed fur is considerably less than regular beagle coats , especially tri colored beagles, and black and tan beagles and can be geneticaly reproduced . Not all cant or dont bark, most are just less than other beagles, some are the same . He and his mom Velvet both have velvet fur to the touch. Velvetine growing up

Introducing Lizzy: she is a tri colored standard mom.
she had one of our favorite personalities , so cute and loving to one and all , she loved other dogs and puppies so much her new owners got a puppy later to join them to give Sweet Sally Wally someone to love and enjoy playing with... ( they got Electra's " Ruth" ) Recently ruth was here on her 2nd heat to be bred , she returned to her home and will come back in 2 months when its time to deliver her little ones !! Her litter will be ready in May and we are so excited since her coat is one of our least shedding tri colors we hope to keep a girl from her and work to continue our quest for the best indoor qualities!

he would be a adorable Valentine Surprise for someone special ... he wont quite be ready by then, but folks often choose to give a card- with a picture of someone's ''puppy', gift in it , or a leash, and collar in a box surprised one lady ,then she realized it was too small for their current sunshine beagle boy... and got tear eyed when it dawned on her... that meant she was getting a second pup from us, as her present from Hubby !! |

He is claimed by the Fisher family from GA ! They had contacted us at the very end of 2009 to join the waiting list for a tricolor male after Christmas,
"I have always wanted a beagle but with our past lifestyle it didn't seem fair to have a dog since it was unpredictable when I'd be traveling or working late and of course Bruce works too. But now, I'm retired from the Army (20 years!) this month so stability will be part of our life, yay! "

box when we announceed it last night, Yay!!!
It's our turn!!! We
would be delighted to adopt Lizzy's little baby tri-color male
with wide blaze, who we intend to name Koa (Hawaiian for warrior
- but you probably already knew that). We
can't wait to see the pictures of him as he continues to grow.
I will start my puppy shopping and mail you some items he can
share with his litter mates until he comes home so he will feel
more comfy in his strange new surroundings. I will
also review the new puppy tips on your website to further
prepare for his homecoming. We
plan to drive up to pick him up when he is ready to come home. Thanks

Honestly, we don't hurry the process to make a "sale", unlike most any other business out there. We alone decide who we want to have our sweet little babies. Of course after hand raising them in our home, we like to get to know people via e-mailing to be sure they are the type of home and family we hope to find for our sunshine babies.
It just isn't possible to accept phone calls from people all over the nation
interested in our pups. We would be interrupted too often to get our work
done here- which is so important, as we do all we can to be sure our
precious beagles get the best they can get from us.
Therefore, patient people, who know how to nicely remind us of
their requests win out in the end... I figure they would make better
parents for my babies anyway in the long run and be happier and better long
time customers over the years, staying in touch with us and sending updates
and so on...
There are certainly times when caring for the tiniest newborns, or helping to birth a new litter, spending a day at the vet having a litter of mini puppies born by emergency c-section, and staying up with the new little ones to care for a groggy mommy is more important than answering e-mails from new customers who seem to be in a hurry to find a pet.
We don't mean to, but there can be days go by that no one has a minute to spare, and others when we catch up on the web site updates and then emailing folks with the answers they are all asking. So, if you don't hear right back from us please don't assume we aren't interested in getting to know your family, home, and what type of puppy you hope to find...
In our line of work, such undertakings as a struggling newbie who needs help nursing every two hours around the clock is the utmost important task of the day... it has to be. as well as the care, feeding, keep cleanly & socialization of the puppies & our own pets is a daily priority.
Usually we have received your email (unless it has gone into spam, which
occasionally we have found some that have) but the email may have easily come in
with a flood of other inquiries a page or so back, especially if
they've built up by missing days away from the
computer, or we may have just not been able to review the details & the many
many factors to consider in good matches & discuss it with
each other yet to reply to anyone.. I go through the emails as I can, checking those
who have claimed their puppy, and our waiting
list families first, and then proceed to the Inbox where there are new
inquiries and happy family updates! Depending on the nature of your email,
if days / week go by without a
response, you can feel free to email again- patience & persistence wins out
& your kind understanding of our puppy priorities helps us feel more
comfortable with devoting our time to helping you once we are able to!
Just re-include the details, so that I will know
what your story is if I just hadn't had a chance to open your previous
email.
I judge a lot by how people react in their e-mail contacts, finding the "right" pup should be more important than finding one immediately.. and having to deal with it for the next 10-15 years if it wasn't the "right" beagle ! Unfortunately, impatient people find out too late after they have purchased a puppy elsewhere out of haste, one that grows up to be a hunting dog , not a family member, from elsewhere. And every time it runs away to hunt , or bays at the moon... and drives the neighbors crazy all night, sheds long fur all over their furniture year round...has that hound dog odor ours don't have , or whatever traits we have worked years to selectively minimize, or delete, from our bloodline versions of the breed to make a better house pet companion, they must wish they had slowed down a bit and waited for the Pet Variety beagle, they really wanted,.. from us

Beagle Puppy Care Sometimes we get frantic calls from customers who fed more than we reccommended, saying "my puppy's tummy looks bloated" We say "cut back on the amount of food you feed tomorrow in order to feed appropriately to your little baby's size". Remember the food also expands when the puppy drinks water, so don't be surprised if their tummy looks large. A stretched tummy simply means their body was not meant to require that amount of food, and you simply need to cut back next time until their tummy is back to an appropriate size. Its been shown that overfeeding a smaller size dog can lead to a larger one , just feed twice daily and carefully to keep a mini mini !! |

Puppy Training Tip: No Biting allowed.
Our Number One Rule in training, Is NEVER ALLOW YOUR NEW PUPPY TO NIBBLE OR
BITE ANY FLESH, even what appears to be innocent teething on your finger! By
allowing a puppy to teeth on you and bite your fingers- that acceptance of his
potential dominance will result in a loss of respect for you by the new k-9
addition to your home.
When new families come to meet our pups,
Establishing Respect now is important while they are observing
everything and begin learning the rules of their household
pack, and therefore bond with their lifelong master(s), so that down
the road your canine addition will be a responsible member of the
family. When they respect you as the top dog in the family pack, they will
be happy to trust your discernment & mind whatever you their
responsible leader has to say !

Beagle Puppy Training
The first step to housetraining,
is setting up your bathtub for the new puppy to stay in when you aren't
able to take him outside. Puppies can sleep in your bath tub at night
, with paper on one end and a doggie bed, and toys, on the other so they can use
the paper when you are busy and aren't right with them in their new house, or
cant take them outside.
Crate training can come later at around 14 -15 weeks
old, and you can follow our advice on doing this easily from our tips page!
By starting them from the time they can walk our puppies are way ahead of
the game on housetraining and using paper ! |

The Pre - School Stage! Beagle Puppy Information.
Pregnant
mommies have a 2 month gestation period, and after birthing the following
2 weeks consists of eating lots of nutrient rich, milk-producing yummy
food while constantly nursing their newborns whose eyes are closed, after
those first 14 or so days their eyes open, & the remainder of that 3rd
week they are getting up, interacting with each other and learning more
about gentle human contact now that they can see us. Teeth start coming in
at 3 weeks as well. Over the next week mommies begin spending less and
less time constantly tending to the puppies & cleaning up after them. The
babies begin learning to use paper, and keep their bed clean, and start
eating Eukanuba &/or Iams Canned Puppy food for a few days, then with dry
Small Breed Puppy mixed in, until finally learning to eat just the dry
kibble and drink water versus momma's milk. During this time they have
begun socializing, and focusing on their human caregivers rather than
mother Dog for all their needs, and learn to look to humans for both love
and instruction. By the time they leave our home, she is out of the
picture, making for a much easier transition to life in a human family.
At that stage, they are eager to learn from everything around them, and absorb interaction like a sponge.

We try to spend time with the pups and kids, so don't get disheartened if it has been a few days since you wrote.. Many days are entirely devoted to doing things around Sunshine Acres . other days we need to go out for errands, dog food, groceries and the such, and when we get home the Dogs & pups understandably come first. So know that you aren't necessarily being skipped over or anything, it just takes time and patience when it comes to placing puppies in their homes! In fact if some days have gone by, and you think maybe your email got lost, go ahead and send another email if you like, with reminders & copy of the original (so we have the details if we open your more recent email!) and any additional info you might have read we would like to hear about your homelife or about your desires for a puppy.. If we find your email and know we can help your desires and preferences, and it sounds like a good situation for the matching puppy, we can get back to you easier & quicker! you may have just the right situation for one of our babies, and be just who we are hoping to hear from for one of our beagle puppies.

Many people say its actually easier to raise two since both are going out onto the grass to go 'hurry up " and following each other at playtime, then passing out on each other for warmth, it just makes sense. Get siblings to raise together, or take home your puppy now and come back for a sibling next year by the same mommy! |

Very often our customers enjoyed the experience with their 1st Sunshine Acres Beagle so much that they come back for another to keep their first one company. Our families tell us about how their "1st born" takes the new baby under their wing, and not only snuggles up with their new little bro or sis, but also helps to show them the ropes of their new home!
Lots of our customers have seen the wisdom in purchasing two companion
pets at once.. beagles are a pack animal and are happy when able to play
with and snuggle with a littermate or other similar aged puppy.
This Computer expert got one and came back to us for a second to keep it company when he is busy with work . Beagles love companionship and have plenty to go around, don't think your beagle will find all it needs from its playmate they are still "Man's Best Friend", and that bond is still there between the pet and owner whether you decide to get one... or more!
One couple said they ran out of room on their big bed so now after 3 from us they got her Dad his own since he lives near by they get to see "Miss Kitty" his petite Mini often and get their Fix of Puppy Breath that becomes so addicting...

colored males. They drove back down to get a second pup from
us... ! Often our customers come back to us for a buddy for their first. Blade is Darth Vader below.. he is also the National Champion in Agility Trials we are very proud of him ! they loved how obedient and Agile he was . Abbey has puppies available soon to choose from for anyone interested see her section on this page ! She is one of our off leash moms we allow to live here on our acreage often without any fencing or restraints yet she never heads off to the woods around us to hunt she is content here just looking to hang out in the driveway or huge acreage back yard , or with the dogs on the Invisible fencing out front... no need to leave the property she isn't going anywhere.. we love to show our beagles are not like the ones you may have heard about from your friends... not to get... we agree its too much work to keep up with them and keep um happy at home.. unlike our housepet variety beagle. |

(the two are best pals now back at home ) we think dogs can sense when they are related ... and getting one from the same line is a good idea when possible. these are downline from our wonderful retired sire Mr. Puppy the stud muffin. His pups are like your kids not a dog... its hard to explain but they are very bright and personable pets. Electra also has pups downline from his influence in our line they have very nice jet black shorter coats for tri colored beagles we think they will look very slick and pretty as adults like he was. |
